Internal Audit Consultant - Credit Risk

$70.00 - $105.00/Hour
Overview

We are looking for an experienced Internal Auditor for our multinational bank client on a project basis. This contract role is fully remote.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive audits and validations focused on Credit Risk and Market Risk frameworks, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and internal risk policies.
  • Support MRA (Matters Requiring Attention) validation activities, particularly those related to collateral management and credit risk controls.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of risk models, stress testing methodologies, and exposure management practices across trading and lending portfolios.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Risk, Finance, and Compliance to assess remediation efforts and validate closure of regulatory findings.
  • Apply subject matter expertise in credit or market risk to identify control gaps, recommend enhancements, and contribute to continuous improvement of audit practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or other related fields 
  • 5+ years of relevant internal audit banking experience at a Top 10 US bank required
  • 3+ years of performing MRA validations related to collateral and credit risk  
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor certification strongly preferred
  • Qualified applicants must reside in the continental U.S. 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
